Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, who has been one of the most outspoken anti-Trump governors in the nation over the past year, made a bizarre statement on a hot mic prior to her speech on night one of the Democratic National Convention.
As she took the podium at a union hall in Lansing and nervously awaited the cameras to go live, she made the following statement.
“It’s not just Shark Week. It’s Shark Week,” right before clearly mouthing the words “mother f**kers.” Oddly enough, the governor proceeded to laugh while saying “I learned about the hot mic.” Apparently, she hadn’t.
Staffers can be heard laughing in the background as the liberal governor readied for the live shot.
You can see the bizarre comment in the video below, which was posted to Twitter on Tuesday.

The comment was in reference to the sometimes highly-anticipated “Shark Week” on Discovery Channel, in which the network dedicates programming to shark-related shows.
The governor then went on to deliver a lackluster speech, in which she appeared somewhat nervous while botching some of the prepared text.
As Breitbart pointed out, there have been a shockingly high number of deaths from the pandemic in Whitmer’s state, which are mostly attributed to nursing homes. Whitmer had a similar policy to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, in which recovering patients were sent back to the nursing homes, which in many states were breeding grounds for new infections.
