Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who is still under fire for his role in allowing infected seniors return to nursing homes in New York which resulted in numerous deaths, seems to be in denial of where the Coronavirus originated.
While the rest of the entire world understands that it came from China, specifically originating in the Wuhan region, Cuomo somehow believes the virus is from elsewhere, as he referred to it for the second time on Monday night as the “European virus.”
“Our current federal government is dysfunctional and incompetent. It couldn’t fight off the virus. In fact, it didn’t even see it coming. The European virus infected the Northeast while the White House was still focused on China,” Cuomo said as he also ripped the Trump administration’s handling of the pandemic.
Watch for yourself, it’s quite bizarre to say the very least. He makes the nutty remark at the 1:40 mark in the video.
Pundits seem to believe that Cuomo is echoing a page out of Joe Biden’s playbook, as the Democratic nominee is reportedly not a fan of publicly criticizing China.
President Trump has repeatedly slammed China for its involvement in the spread of the virus, even calling it the “China virus” on multiple occasions.
This is the second time Gov. Cuomo has uses the European descriptor for the virus. The first time was back in May, which you can watch in the video below.
